Consultants are people who are specialized in a certain field of construction and either the client or the architect heirs them for the project

Consultants can be very helpful in completing projects.
Their expertise can be invaluable, providing a rewarding experience for architect when planning a project

They are various consultants
Some of them are mentioned below

1. Engineering consultants
2. Building services consultants
3. Historic preservation consultant
4. Project management
5. subcontractors

ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS

They manage, design and supervise a broad range of projects such as industrial projects (energy production, transport and distribution, manufacturing and processing industries), infrastructure (transport systems, hydraulic systems and ports), building construction (office buildings, hospitals, universities and schools, etc), agricultural developments and projects for the conservation of
nature.
Engineering consultants maintain quality and a sustainable environment in the projects they manage and design, and take into consideration not only technical, economic and environmental elements, but also architectural elements in partnership with the architects.
In most projects, engineering consultants and architects co-operate as professional partners.
However, the legal protection offered to both partners differs in some countries, resulting in a situation were the partners do not benefit from equal status, which can impair the good practice of their professions.

The various engineering consultants are:

a. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
b. SITE ENGINEER
c. CIVIL ENGINEER

Structural engineer
Structural engineering involves the analysis and design of physical objects such as buildings, bridges, equipment supports, towers and walls. Those concentrating on buildings are responsible for the structural performance of a large part of the built environment and are, sometimes, informally referred to as "building engineers". Structural engineers require expertise in strength of materials and in the seismic design of structures covered by earthquake engineering. Architectural Engineers sometimes practice structural as one aspect of their designs; the structural discipline when practiced as a specialty works closely with architects and other engineering specialists.

Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)
Main articles: Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, and Building services engineering
Mechanical and electrical engineers are specialists, commonly referred to as "MEP" (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) when engaged in the building design fields. Also known as "Building services engineering"

Mechanical engineers design and oversee the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and rain gutter systems.

Plumbing designers often include design specifications for simple active fire protection systems, but for more complicated projects, fire protection engineers are often separately retained.

Electrical engineers are responsible for the building's power distribution, telecommunication, fire alarm, signalization, lightning protection and control systems, as well as lighting systems.

FAÇADE ENGINEERS

Building facades make a major contribution to the overall aesthetic and technical performance of a building. Facade engineers work in consultancy for architects, building owners, cladding manufacturers and construction managers. Projects can include new buildings and recladding of existing buildings.

Facade engineers work in conjunction with other members of the design team including fire, acoustic and lighting engineers. Their goal is to balance the overall objectives of appearance, quality, performance, cost, durability and schedule.

Facade engineering requires a blend of skills ranging from structural engineering through to building physics, architecture, manufacturing, materials science, dynamics, programming, procurement, project management and construction techniques.

BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEERING

Is the engineering of the internal environment and environmental impact of a building. It essentially brings buildings and structures to life.
Building services engineers are responsible for the design, installation, operation and monitoring of the mechanical, electrical and public health systems required for the safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly operation of modern buildings. The term "building services engineering" is widely used in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, however in the United States of America, it is also known as architectural engineering or building engineering.

FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERING

(also known as fire engineering or fire safety engineering) is the application of science and engineering principles to protect people and their environments from the destructive effects of fire and smoke.
The discipline of fire protection engineering includes, but is not exclusive to:

Active fire protection - fire suppression systems, and fire alarm.
Passive fire protection - fire and smoke barriers, space separation
Smoke control and management
Building design, layout, and space planning
Fire prevention programs
Fire dynamics and fire modeling
Human behavior during fire events
Risk analysis, including economic factors

In practice, fire protection engineers typically identify risks and design safeguards that aid in preventing, controlling, and mitigating the effects of fires. Fire protection engineers assist architects, building owners and developers in evaluating buildings' life safety and property protection goals. FPEs are also employed as fire investigators, including such very large-scale cases as the analysis of the collapse of the World Trade Centers. NASA uses fire protection engineers in its space program to help improve safety. In some countries, fire engineers are employed to provide 3rd party review for fire engineering solutions submitted in support of local building regulation applications.

WHAT SERVICES DO HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROFESSIONALS PROVIDE?

Historic preservation professionals can assist your preservation project in different ways.
Archeologists find and evaluate the remains of past cultures buried in the ground. Their work
Often includes a visual survey of the land to locate sites and careful excavation to find information
For analysis.
Architectural historians and other historians study our built environment. They consider the
Historical and architectural importance of buildings constructed more than 50 years ago, and
Provide historical research, consultation and documentation. Groups of buildings in districts,
Structures such as bridges and objects such as ships may also be considered important for their
Design or history.
Preservation architects prepare plans for appropriate work on historic buildings, and direct the
Work to preserve important features and avoid damage. This work can include restoring a building
To its original appearance or rehabilitating it to serve a new use while keeping its historic look.
Preservation architects also help plan the efficient use of building space, and can make drawings
Of a historic building to use in rehabilitation or as a record of a building that will be torn down.
Although this brochure describes three types of preservation professional generally employed on
Preservation projects, there are other types of professionals who are sometimes involved. You
Should consider if a preservation planner, landscape architect, engineer or other preservation
Professional is appropriate for your project.

THE ENGINEERING CONSULTANT AND THE ARCHITECT, PARTNERS IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR

Engineering consultants manage, design and supervise a broad range of projects such as industrial projects (energy production, transport and distribution, manufacturing and processing industries), infrastructure (transport systems, hydraulic systems and ports), building construction (office buildings, hospitals, universities and schools, etc), agricultural developments and projects for the conservation of nature. Engineering consultants maintain quality and a sustainable environment in the projects they manage and design, and take into consideration not only technical, economic and environmental elements, but also architectural elements in partnership with the architects. In most projects, engineering consultants and architects co-operate as professional partners.

Services rendered by the engineering consultant
The engineering consultant primarily provides technology-based intellectual services for the built
environment and the natural environment in the interests of clients and society. His objective is to
ensure global and durable quality of the works that he designs and conceives. With projects increasing
in size and complexity, engineering consultants have project management skills that are now offered as
state-of-the-art services assisted by 3D design and project administration software made available via
Internet for all team members.

Both professions ply similar trades and maintain common objectives
The engineering consultant and the architect provide different facets of the same trade. They maintain
common principles and interests such as compliance to a code of ethic s, a commitment to a qualitybased
selection of the service provider and the provision of quality assurance systems on the part of the
service provider.

The skills of both professions are complementary in the construction process

The engineering consultant and the architect are partners from the initial concept of the works through to the implementation. As a result of their combined and complementary skills, they are able to provide designs of the highest quality having due regard to all the elements involved in the processes such as the architectural, cultural, technical, economic and environmental considerations which are typical of modern construction requirements. Architectural creation can no longer be dissociated from the technical and socio-economic and environmental objectives, which form an integral part of any
construction project.

Integrated multidisciplinary teams are essential
In recent years, the construction sector has experienced major changes as a result of a number of factors such as the use of new building materials, the constantly evolving technology of building services, complex environmental considerations, as well as the safety and security requirements for users, workers and that of building sites. In addition, both the scale and the complexity of the projects have continued to grow. A multidisciplinary approach based on the formation of multidisciplinary teams with shared responsibilities is therefore essential from the outset.

The market requires different forms of practices of both professions
Engineering consultants and architects practice their trades either in a corporate capacity or as a liberal profession. In most countries, the dominant volume is performed by corporate services and in general recent trends show that the corporate option is progressively being favoured. Multidisciplinary practices integrating both professions have developed in response to the needs of the client, society and the environment. These practices are better able to offer a global breadth of services which some customers demand. Multidisciplinary practices should therefore be able to develop without regulatory constraints, as is already the case in some member countries.
